The recycled items will be used to make products like playgrounds and park benches.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Walmart is partnering with an international recycling leader, TerraCycle, to provide a space where people can bring their locally non-recyclable waste.

There are currently recycling centers outside of Springdale, Ark., and Broken Arrow, Okla. Walmart Supercenters, as well as Fayetteville Sam’s Club.

The list of items that can be dropped includes:

  • Flexible plastic food packaging
  • Care and beauty products
  • Oral hygiene products
  • Food and Beverage Pouches
  • Packing home and garden supplies
  • Coffee capsules and water filters
  • plastic bottles
  • Worn clothes
  • Pet food packaging
  • Plastic bags and shipping materials
  • plastic toys
  • Ink cartridges and office supplies

When Central Station is full, Walmart says TerraCycle will pick up the waste and transport it to regional material recovery facilities where it will be sorted and recycled into raw materials that can be used to make new products like playgrounds and benches. of park.
