SDG&E Bark Beetle project

Notice to commence work

August 30, 2004

To: Residence of the Palomar Mountain community

This letter serves as a notice to inform the residence of the Palomar Mountain community that SDG&E has secured a contract with the Asplundh Tree Expert Company to begin the clean up efforts of our First Phase "Bark Beetle" tree removal project and will include the Second Phase "Bark Beetle" dead and dieing tree removal, for trees that have continued to decline and pose a threat of contacting overhead high voltage power lines.

Property owners that wish to "keep their wood", please notify Bruce Taylor before August 30, 2004 to make the arrangements.

SDG&E as well as other Agencies such as County, CDF and the Forest service will be working throughout Palomar. Due to the number of agencies involved, this may become confusing to the land owners as to who is managing the work on their property.

To minimize the confusion, SDG&E will have a Special Project Forester in the area to supervise the efforts and answer any customer questions or concerns.
