The new recycling program is required by law statewide in an effort to reduce methane emissions by limiting landfills. Starting last month, rates increased to $14.32 per month for homeowners who pay for yard waste collection. Those not currently paying for this service will receive a new monthly charge of $10.02 starting in July.
