Recycling services resume at St. Aug Beach on January 3

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, FL – The curbside recycling service for recyclable materials will resume in St. Augustine Beach starting Jan. 3, the city said on Friday.

Important information:

  • Recycling pickup will be on the same day as your garbage pickup day

  • The city only collects 18 gallon blue bins issued by the city. Recyclable materials placed in any type of closed container, large or small, will not be picked up.

  • Recycled items should be loose in the bins, not in a plastic bag or any other type of bag. Bagged items will be not to be picked up.

The city cannot accept that:

  • Type 1 and 2 plastics Steel and aluminum boxes Paper and cardboard

  • Other items placed in the bins will result in the bins not emptying. Bins not emptied will be labeled with an explanation of the cause.

The city can not I accept:

  • Plastic bags of all types. Glass of any type. Cartons – milk, juice, etc. Fast food bags. Pizza boxes. Plastics, other than Type 1 or 2 – for example, yogurt containers, pill bottles, plastic wrap, polystyrene, etc. Aluminum foil or baking / serving dishes

Each unit is entitled to two (2) 18-gallon recycling bins issued by the City. If you do not have a City-issued 18 gallon bin, please contact City Hall at (904) 471-2122.
