ST. JOHNS COUNTY, FL – The curbside recycling service for recyclable materials will resume in St. Augustine Beach starting Jan. 3, the city said on Friday.
Important information:

Recycling pickup will be on the same day as your garbage pickup day

The city only collects 18 gallon blue bins issued by the city. Recyclable materials placed in any type of closed container, large or small, will not be picked up.

Recycled items should be loose in the bins, not in a plastic bag or any other type of bag. Bagged items will be not to be picked up.
The city cannot accept that:

Type 1 and 2 plastics Steel and aluminum boxes Paper and cardboard

Other items placed in the bins will result in the bins not emptying. Bins not emptied will be labeled with an explanation of the cause.
The city can not I accept:

Plastic bags of all types. Glass of any type. Cartons – milk, juice, etc. Fast food bags. Pizza boxes. Plastics, other than Type 1 or 2 – for example, yogurt containers, pill bottles, plastic wrap, polystyrene, etc. Aluminum foil or baking / serving dishes
Each unit is entitled to two (2) 18-gallon recycling bins issued by the City. If you do not have a City-issued 18 gallon bin, please contact City Hall at (904) 471-2122.
