No curbside pickup for Maple Ridge residents this Saturday
New federal bank holiday for Queen Elizabeth II suspends curbside pickup until September 26
Recycling bins will be overflowing in Maple Ridge on September 19 due to the recently announced federal holiday in honor of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, which canceled the local curbside recycling pickup service.
The next scheduled recycling collection in Maple Ridge will not take place until the following Monday, September 26th.
However, residents can bring their recycling to the Maple Ridge Recycling Depot on 236th Street, which will remain open Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Leanne Koehn, community engagement manager for the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society, also wants to remind residents that the recycling depot will move to its winter hours starting Saturday, October 1.
“This means the Depot will close an hour earlier, at 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday,” she said. “Sunday and holiday hours will remain the same, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
