Manatee County Sets Recycling and Yard Waste Schedules

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – After the storm, the cleanup begins.

And as Manatee County residents begin picking up the pieces after Ian, trash and yard waste collections will return to the regular schedule — with one major change. Recycling collections will be suspended until further notice. This allows drivers to focus on collecting trash and debris.

However, collection points for recyclable materials will be made available to residents at the following locations:

These slots are for recycling materials only. No other material will be accepted. All cardboard must be clean, decomposed or flattened to be recycled.

RECYCLING CENTER: Manatee County provides a recycling center for ALL recyclable materials at Manatee County Landfill3333 Lena Road, Bradenton.

All materials accepted through the Curbside Recycling Program can be taken to the Manatee County Landfill to be recycled free of charge. Debris can be prepared as yard waste and placed outside for pick up on Wednesday. Unprepared debris will be picked up by contracted haulers on passes through the county, which will be scheduled shortly.

The Lena Road landfill is open today and tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will operate from October 3 to 8 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Landfill fees have been temporarily waived for residential customers.
