Glass Act Recycling is hosting a mystery fundraising dinner where people will host 6-10 guests in their homes. But in this case, the hosts don’t know who their guests will be until they arrive.
On the evening of the dinners, June 25, guests will attend a Mystery Reveal Cocktail Party at the Glass Act Recycling Center, 5215 Leo St., located behind Walk-On’s in Alexandria. It is then that they will learn the names, addresses and menus of their hosts.
Want to be part of the fun? Tickets are limited to 45 guests and can be purchased at eventbrite.com. The price is $100 each.

Annie Collins, executive director, said when she owned an art gallery and art school in Leesburg, Virginia, she discovered this fundraiser that an organization in Key West, Florida was doing. to raise funds for HIV.
“So I stole that idea and it worked out wonderfully,” she said. “Everyone had a great time. The only problem I had was that the bands all wanted to go together.”
With this event, she said only one or two tickets can be purchased at a time.
Glass Act Recycling is a non-profit organization that can only take glass food or drink containers because that’s what can go in the shredder.
“The rule of thumb is, ‘Did food or drink come in? And that’s just an easy thing to say,” Collins said. “It didn’t come in a vase. He didn’t come in a window. So that would be the easiest thing.”
The center is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
