Fire crews battle a large fire at a recycling center in Scotland’s industrial estate

Fire crews battle a major fire at a recycling center in an industrial estate in Scotland.

Emergency services are currently on duty at Linwood Industrial Estate, Burnbrae Road, Linwood, after being alerted to the fire at around 11.20am this morning.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service currently has six fire apparatus and one height apparatus as firefighters work to put out the inferno.

Video footage from the scene shows dark clouds of black smoke rising into the air.



Firefighters attempt to extinguish the blaze

It is not yet known how the trash fire started.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘We were alerted at 11.19am on Thursday 16th June to reports of a fire affecting waste at a recycling center in the industrial estate of Linwood, Burnbrae Road, Linwood.

“Operations control immediately mobilized six fire apparatus and one height apparatus to the scene and firefighters extinguished the fire.

“Crews will leave once the area is secure.”
