Delhi’s political parties have started preparations for the MCD polls after the first draft municipal ward boundary ordinance was notified by the Centre.

BJP Delhi Unit Leader Adesh Gupta said the party is ready for the upcoming MCD elections and will win polls from civic bodies given people’s anger against the AAP. Gupta said Delhi BJP will give practical suggestions related to the boundary to the boundary committee.

“The Kejriwal government has done nothing but corrupt alcohol policy, building classrooms and buying buses. Therefore, this mistake will not repeat itself in corporate polls,” he said.

On the other hand, the AAP, which will make sanitation the main issue in the MCD elections, launched the ‘Kooda Virodhi Abhiyan’ or anti-waste campaign across Delhi on Wednesday.

Delhi State Coordinator and Party Minister Gopal Rai said, “The AAP will lay bare the reality of the mountains of rubbish of the BJP-led MCD in front of the public, MPs will show the reality of Ghazipur Landfill on September 14, Okhla Landfill on September 15, and Bhalswa Landfill on September 16. The BJP will either have to clean Delhi’s garbage or pack up and leave Delhi and MCD forever.

Spokesperson and MLA Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj said: “The garbage situation in Delhi has always been bad but it has worsened significantly over the past 6 months. The MCD has closed countless dhalaos without any plan of action and opened private shops on the sites, forcing people to throw rubbish in the streets and sewers.
