BJP only tackles garbage problem as polls near: AAP

The AAP called the inauguration of the waste-to-energy (WTE) plant by Interior Minister Amit Shah on Thursday an “election gimmick” in the nation’s capital.

AAP MP Durgesh Pathak said the Delhi government had given more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore to the MCD over the past 15 years, but the BJP had gobbled up all the money. MP AAP alleged that the BJP is only talking about trash because of the upcoming municipal elections.

Calling the inauguration of the WTE processing plant in Tehkhand an election gimmick, Pathak said Amit Shah was making unnecessary inaugurations as he feared a loss in the upcoming municipal elections.

Pathak further said that despite thousands of requests, Shah did not come to see the Bhalswa garbage mountain and today he came to inaugurate the WTE plant. AAP leader Atishi said the BJP and Amit Shah must stop daydreaming. “Leave aside three years, Delhiites will not let BJP rule for three more days after seeing their disasters in the MCD,” she said.

“Amit Shah must tell the people of Delhi why his party has failed to clean up the garbage for the past 15 years. The BJP has done nothing to clean up Delhi and they are just talking rubbish as the elections are approaching. After creating three huge mountains of rubbish inside the nation’s capital, the BJP now wants to build 16 more,” she added.
