Ann Arbor trash and recycling collection delayed this week for Memorial Day

ANN ARBOR, MI — Ann Arbor is closing city government offices and delaying garbage pickup for the Memorial Day holiday.

The federal holiday on Monday, May 30, will cause a one-day delay in garbage, recycling and compost collection, officials said.

This means that Monday pick-ups will take place on Tuesday and the rest of the pick-ups will take place a day later throughout the week, with normal Friday routes being served on Saturday June 4.

Commercial customers with weekly Saturday service through the city’s franchise with Waste Management will receive Saturday pickups without delay, the city noted.

City offices, including the Larcom City Hall Customer Service Center and the 15th District Court, will be closed to the public during the holiday, although security services and utility operations will maintain 24-hour schedules, officials said.
