Here are the top five stories from today in Tampa:

1. The Court of Appeal of the 2nd arrondissement ruled that the Seminole Heights murder trials may include evidence of other murders. The fact that the the same gun was used in each homicide is relevant for the state to establish that Donaldson was the perpetrator, wrote Appeals Judge J. Andrew Atkinson. (Tampa Bay Weather)

2. One a fire broke out on Wednesday at a recycling center in Drew Park is is being investigated as possible arson. Tampa Fire Rescue responded to the fire in the Block 4800 of the Northern Hesperides Street at around 3:30 a.m. to find a great fully involved trailer. Firefighters attacked the fire both from below and from above with a ladder truck. (Tampa Patch)

3. The Battery at Sparkman Wharf will host a four-course dinner with wine pairings and auction for the benefit of a local charity, The wheels of success. The event will take place on monday april 11 starting at 6:00 p.m.. (Tampa Bay Newswire)

4. Coffee + Talk is a new creation local meeting for residents and politicians Organized by Dominique Cobb, Vice President of Tampa East ARC and hosted at Café Quiquiriqui within the Haya Hotel in the city of Ybor. Cobb says she is on a mission, “to help educate and inform residents and local officials about each other to improve understanding and access to government services.” (83 degree media)

5. The leaders of the city of Tampa are consider a new noise ordinance for replace the the one they repealed last month. The new plan would only apply to the Channel District. City officials said fines prescription would be issued based on what officers perceive as “excessively loud” noise to the human ear. (WFLA)
